The opportunity
Scottish Enterprise is on a mission – a grand challenge to transform Scotland’s energy transition and support companies to find their place in growing the renewables markets. By 2030, we aim to have helped create a globally competitive renewable energy industry in Scotland. We want to help double the number of Scotland’s energy transition companies, create 44,000 new jobs, and secure £1.5bn in exports annually. We can think big like this, because we have a strong team – one that you could play your part in on this graduate development programme.
The role
You’ll hit the ground running in our busy Clean Heat team giving us critical team support for grid connectivity and new energy systems and storage. Your role sits at the core of our team, juggling our schedules and priorities and helping to build up our existing knowledge base. But you won’t just be talking to us - you’ll be speaking to grid operators and developers to troubleshoot problems and support them as they make moves to increase renewable energy generation and decarbonisation. With your help, we’ll work towards making Scotland a global leader in the Energy sector – one that creates jobs and blazes a trail for innovation and manufacturing across Scotland’s regions.

You’re a project manager at heart and aren’t put off by complex spreadsheets or research reports. You love bringing calm and order to busy people at all levels, thinking fast to keep the team on track. You’ve got big ideas to support our team – we’re all about ideas. We also value enthusiasm – you’ll have lots of that for our energy transition mission. In return, we’ll support you to learn new skills and experience everything that SE has to offer while you’re on your placement.
